The Savannah College of Art and Design officially named its new 85,000-sq. ft. library Oct. 22 in honor of of its primary benefactors, Jim and Lancy Jen. The ceremony included a lighting of the Jen Library sign. Presentation of the library donor wall and self-guided tours of the facility followed. The Jen Library is one of the largest art and architectural libraries in the United States.

SCAD acquired the former Maas Brothers building in 1996 and undertook an extensive design and renovation project that included two other buildings. The project encompassed an entire block of Broughton Street, from Abercorn to Lincoln streets. The library was opened to students in May.
