July 14

Café Metropole will host its third annual Bastille Day, or French Independence Day, with an authentic bouillabaisse dinner. The five-course dinner will be paired with French wines and will begin at 8 p.m. Reservations are required. The $60 per person cost includes fireworks.


July 15

The Past Potentate Council is sponsoring their Seventh Annual Ball from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. at the Prince Hall Center, 602 E. Broad St. Advance tickets are $15, $17 at the door. Music will be by the Soul Sensation Showtime Band from Charleston, S.C. To make reservations, call 233-5439.


July 20

S.L. Gibbons Court #5 Heroines of Jericho is sponsoring a Gospel Fest to benefit scholarship assistance for youth. The gospel fest will be held at 5 p.m. in Bethany Baptist Church, 2139 Margery St. The public is invited. Call 234-2072 for more information.


July 23

Trinity United Methodist Church at 320 Benton Drive in Pooler will present Club Can-Do Vacation Bible School from 5:45-8:30 p.m. July 23-27. A light supper will be available at 6 p.m. for all participating. Ages 4 to adult are welcome. For information, call 748-4141.

The Ubuntu Video Club will meet at 2:30 p.m. to view "A Walk in the Night" at the public library at 2002 Bull St. The library will provide the video, a screening area and support information about the video.
